Franklin Park is operated by the Franklin Park Coalition (FPC). The FPC’s mission is to serve as a voice for the Park, a 527-acre historic green space located in the geographic heart of Boston and surrounded by some of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods. The Coalition works to engage all park users and community members through advocacy, programs, and restoration.
FPC's work falls into three program areas: 1) Conservation & Stewardship, 2) Events, and 3) Advocacy & Outreach. They also like to think of these three categories as “Work”, “Play”, and “Engage”—the three pillars of the Franklin Park Coalition. This Saturday, June 9, the FPC will host their annual Kite & Bike Festival at the Park for the 8th year in a row. Not only is this event fun for the entire family, it also serves as an awesome opportunity for local photographers to get some great shots!
With a history dating back to 1969, the Franklin Park Coalition has hosted the Kite & Bike Festival every year since 2010. The festival brings out more than 1,000 people to fly kites, ride bikes, picnic, and enjoy the sun. With food trucks, affordable kites for sale, and the beautiful scenery of Franklin Park, this rite of Spring is not to be missed! The festival kicks off at 11AM and runs until 4PM.
Come spend the day the best way - with family, fun, kites and bikes and devour the details of a perfect spring Saturday! For more information, visit the FPC website.
