Be Statewide Against the Tide this Saturday

Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) will be holding its annual, statewide Against the Tide multi-sport events again this Saturday, August 18. Set against the backdrop of a beautiful state park, Against the Tide offers something for all outdoor enthusiasts. Participants can enjoy pristine beaches and water locales for the half-mile paddleboard, competitive and recreational 1-mile swims, and 2-mile kayak events, as well as tree-lined rolling paved courses for both the USATF certified 5K and 10K runs, and the 3-mile fitness walk.

All ages and abilities are welcome to choose from 1, 2, or 3 of these exciting activities. The event also offers an Aquathon “Splash and Dash” component, where participants “splash” in the competitive 1-mile swim and immediately “dash” in 5K or 10K run (chosen by the participant). All swim, run, and Aquathon components are timed using chip timing systems.

Participants may register as an individual or as part of a team. Registration is $40 per adult per event activity and $25 per student per event activity. Participants are encouraged to fundraise beyond these suggested minimums, as all proceeds support Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition’s unique goal towards breast cancer prevention. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest swim, run, and Aquathon athletes and top fundraisers.

Held for the 19th year at DCR's Nickerson State Park on the Cape, Against the Tide is a day full of fun starting at 7:00 am and ending at 12:00 noon. Register online today and visit the MBCC website for more information. Join in the fight against breast cancer and devour the details of giving back the best way you can - Against the Tide!
