Wine Down Friday or Friday Night Flights: What Will You Choose?

Need some ideas for an evening out with your Valentine? Look no further! We've got two awesome events that will perfectly pair with your other half. Check it out!

Wine Down Fridays
Every Friday from 4-7PM, First Crush winemakers come to the Massachusetts Wine Shop to share complimentary samples of their wines with you! All featured wines are 10% off, so you can sip and then shop. Come try something delicious and meet the people behind the wine! We remember our First Crush...and you will too after sipping some tomorrow night during this Wine Down Friday event!

The vision and the passion of First Crush Winery is under the proud direction of Frank D. Puzio, a Harwich, MA eye doctor with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Aside from a rewarding day job, Dr. Frank has been evolving his enology experiences and skills for more than 30 years. First Crush Winery's mission is simple; to produce exquisite wines that will turn the heads of the most discriminating, utilizing the finest fruit in the land while sparing no expense on equipment and technology.

The name First Crush is a play on words depicting the realities of making wine, along with the social enjoyment experienced consuming wine. The first step in making wine is a process called “the crush” that strips the grapes from their stems to yield only berries and juice in preparation for fermentation. In addition, when wine is enjoyed, it is typically in the presence of friends, family, or with a person in your life that elicits a meaningful crush. And so, First Crush Winery came to be!

Friday Night Flights
Each Friday evening from 6:30-8PM, GrandTen opens the distillery doors to those interested in a more in-depth understanding of handcrafted spirits. They offer a detailed tour, followed by a relaxed tasting of their full line of products (along with special, limited-run spirits not available anywhere else). These tastings include discussions on mixology, the history of Boston spirits, and the spirit world more generally.

GrandTen Distilling was started because owners Matthew Nuernberger and Spencer McMinn love spirits and, just like you, enjoy a nice drink at the end of the day. Their mission is to create distinctive products that will satisfy you, the growing number of savvy New England cocktail drinkers. GrandTen is inspired by new and interesting flavors, but also take pride in producing high quality classic spirits. Their flagship product, Wire Works American Gin, celebrates the history of the famous South Boston iron foundry that occupied the space where they now distill.

All of GrandTen's products are produced in very small batches and distilled in copper. Every step, from choosing the raw ingredients to bottling and labeling, is done by hand.

Wine Down Fridays or Friday Night Flights? Choose wisely and devour the details of a perfect Valentine's Day with you better half. Cheers!
