Got The Fall Travel Bug?

Travel + Leisure has put together a great list of America's best towns for fall foliage. So if you've got the travel bug this autumn, I suggest busting out your suitcase and devouring all the details these quaint places have to offer! Here are some of my favorites from New York to Colorado.

Lake Placid, NY

The Adirondack Mountains are famed for their fall colors. Definitely a picturesque landscape for autumn photos.


Whitefish, MT

The mountains framing Whitefish, the doorway to Glacier National Park in the Flathead Valley, capture fall beautifully.

Snowmass Village, CO

Snowmass Village has a very brief autumn but it is truly gorgeous while it lasts. You won't want to miss it!

Harbor Springs, MI

Tucked into Little Traverse Bay in Northern Michigan, this area arguably has the most scenic drive in the state, especially during the fall months.

You can take in the fall color as you roam the waterfront district and its restored homes, drive down the 18-mile scenic Coastal Byway, or take an inland river cruise highlighting foliage and local lore this historic town has to offer.
