The fiesta don't start till you walk in! So grab your friends and head out this Thursday for some of the best tacos and tequila in town. Here are our five Cinco de Mayo favorites that are celebrating this beloved holiday with unique dishes and awesome discounts. ¡Salud!

Coppersmith
40 W. 3rd St., South Boston

Don’t fill up on complimentary chips and salsa, because Coppersmith chef, Jason Heard, is serving up two-for-$5 tacos like grilled shrimp with chili glaze, refritos, and tomato salsa; and crispy sweet plantains with guacamole and West Indian hot sauce. There will also be some epic pulled pork nachos with Grandma Clarice’s Carolina mustard, and a gazpacho with cornbread croutons. Delicioso! The springtime soup is a collaboration with Elmer Sanchez, East Coast Grille’s first-ever cook, who made the move to Coppersmith with Heard. Quite the dynamic duo!

Loco Taqueria & Oyster Bar
412 West Broadway, South Boston

If Cinco de Mayo is your favorite day of the year (as it is ours), you’re in luck! Loco Taqueria is planning to celebrate for cinco days. Beginning Sunday, May 1, with a green tea peach margarita and duck empanadas, there will be a new food and drink special every day. We love that! We hear that on the holiday itself, Loco will be serving some tasty tequila snow cones we need to try! The fun extends beyond comestibles, with daily raffles, and an ongoing Instagram contest to win a tequila dinner for you and cinco friends. Nothing but fun at Loco Taqueria!

The Painted Burro
219 Elm St., Somerville

A weeklong fiesta is also going down at the Painted Burro. There's potential to win a gift card during a round of loterĂa, a Mexican game of chance. You even have the opportunity to showcase your pipes with some karaoke tonight at the Painted Burro. Doors open early at 11 a.m. on Cinco de Mayo, and food and drink specials like lobster tacos with sliced avocado and chipotle aioli will be featured. You can also try a toasted coconut margarita to compliment some of those spicier dishes.

Tico
222 Berkeley St., Boston

Two words: Free tacos. Yes, you read that right! Chef and owner Michael Schlow has specials all day to celebrate, and the complimentary tacos come out from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A trio of margaritas is also on the table, including blood orange, a ghost chile infused variety (this makes us sweat a little), and a traditional version. You can never have too many margaritas! A DJ is spinning from 5:30-9 p.m. We couldn't agree more that tacos, margaritas, and music are really all you need to celebrate this holiday!

Lone Star Taco Bar
479 Cambridge St., Boston

With a number of authentic dishes already on the menu, Lone Star doesn't have to do much to prepare for this holiday! Grab your closest amigos and get acquainted with some grilled street corn at this hopping spot on Cinco de Mayo. Tacos are just $4 and for an extra kick add the house pickled jalapenos for a $1 more! You also can't go wrong with their unique cocktail menu including beverages like the Diablo Margarita: rich and spicy reposado tequila, mezcal, lime, jalapeno and habanero agave syrup, served over ice with a chili-lime salt rim or the Terra Chelada: beer with Clamato tomato juice over ice with a spiced rim. Both sound perfecto!

These friendly fiestas and inspired menus are a Mexican food lover's dream (and we love any excuse to enjoy a specialty margarita)! Join us Thursday by celebrating at any of our favorites and devour the details of Cinco de Mayo 2016!
