Wedding Wednesdays: Venue Alert! - French's Point Estate

Recommended by my mom, when I went to check out this venue, I instantly fell in love. It is beyond picturesque and spews romanticism. Set on a peninsula overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Penobscot Bay, French's Point Estate is a Waterfront Maine Wedding Venue offering five stunning acres of landscaped grounds and event space to one celebration at a time, exclusively affording you and your guests with complete privacy. Originally created as a summer camp and church retreat in the 1880s, French's Point is now a family-owned and operated estate. The wild beauty of their expansive grounds is surpassed only by the sweeping views of Maine's breathtaking coastline. Get a look at this!

They offer a number of spaces on the property where your function can be held. As guests of French's Point, you are given exclusive use of the entire coastal Maine Estate for the duration of your event, ensuring quality, intimacy and privacy. Guests are invited to enjoy the Estate House, main lawn, cobblestone terrace and the oceanfront gazebo for their ceremony and festivities throughout the year. From May through October, they also offer a spectacular tent set on a full floor that can accommodate up to 300 guests in true comfort. This sailcloth tent is quite at home right on the water as it recalls Maine's maritime legacy. From summer lobster bakes to autumn bonfires and winter sleigh rides, you can tailor your experience to celebrate in style any time of year.

The Estate House was built in 1885 by acclaimed architect Wilfred E. Mansur and features Arts and Crafts style structure with mission details, rich douglas fir-woodwork and copious French doors that open to cobble-stone terraces and porches to take in the 280 degree view of the Atlantic ocean. The beautiful architecture will add to the elegance of your wedding photos and your guests will always remember the intricate details of this property. The Estate House, tent and grounds provide a beautiful blank canvas setting for your event. You can really take the venue and make it your own. Did we mention it's utterly picture perfect? Seriously, go to the website and watch the video montage on the homepage; you'll understand exactly how we feel about French's Point.

Our favorite personal touch on the property is the "Family Tree". Originally planted in 1885, the Tree is an iconic spot at French's Point. Generations of children have climbed its branches, and its leaves have sheltered a number of couples under its shady canopy. Time and nature have grown its limbs into a heart shape visible from two points on the property, making it an enduring natural symbol of heritage, family and love. Perfect for any photo opp. We love it!
