Monday Mashups: The Langham Boston Chocolate Bar

As an early birthday celebration for my mom, my parents tried out the Chocolate Bar at the Langham Hotel in Boston this past weekend. Barely being able to talk after their much anticipated food coma, they both agreed with a nod that it was more delicious than they could have ever imagined. It's quite frankly like living out your own real Willy Wonka experience. They highly recommended visiting the chocolate bar and getting chocolate wasted as soon as possible!

What's even cooler about this experience? Well, each year they the Langham has a specific theme the celebrate with the wonders of chocolate. This year, the theme was "The Art of Chocolate", which was acknowledged by beautiful sculptures made of, what else...chocolate, at the center of each table. So it's not just a chocolate feast you get to experience but you also get time to appreciate the elegance and variety of all things chocolate. Overall though, the 27th season of the all-you-can-enjoy chocolate buffet's new theme pays tribute to the importance of art in the Langham Hotels & Resorts brand.

Executive Chef Mark Sapienza and Executive Pastry Chef Ryan Pike feature more than 100 chocolate dessert combinations inspired by different world-renowned genres of visual arts, including Modern Abstract, Pop Art, Sculpture, Street Art and Surrealism. Stations with varying levels of chocolate intensity and flavors – from white to dark and everything in between – include a never ending supply of desserts designed to capture the senses. Inspired by the different techniques of each genre of art, desserts feature chocolate spray paint, miniature three-dimensional chocolate statues, layered “splash-art” techniques, modern flavor combinations, and many more as a live contemporary jazz band sets the tone for the afternoon. They are bringing a whole new love of the arts chocolate to the people of Boston and we couldn't be more happy about it.
