Comic Con Comeback

It's that time of year again. Boston Comic Con is back and here all weekend long to make your wildest dreams come true! And sadly for us, we're missing it (again). But we can't be too sad since we're off to Puerto Rico for the weekend! This year, Boston Comic Con fans are in for a real treat as this three-day comic book convention returns to the Seaport World Trade Center for another epic event. That's right, get your cosplay ready!

Boston Comic Con is one of the few comic cons in the nation that is truly committed to the comic book genre and to its fans. This year they will feature rare appearances by world renowned comic artists, Sam Kieth and John Cassady. And to mark the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, Boston Comic Con is bringing William Shatner to the show on August 12 and 13 with opportunities for fans to have a live meet and greet. How cool is that?

Other celebrity guests include Jenna Coleman, John Barrowman, Caity Lotz, Robbie Amell, Seth Gillman, Ben McKenzie and Elizabeth Henstridge. Quite the lineup! Not to mention, new this year at Boston Comic Con is Family Day on August 12, when kids under 10 will be admitted free. Yes you read that right, free! And Comic Con will offer a special, self-contained program of kid-friendly activities on Friday including:

• How-to workshops on comics creation and cartooning
• Mask-making
• Coloring contest
• Facepainting
• Balloonist
• Caricaturist
• Jedi Training by professional martial artist – including light sabers!
• Superheroes Meet and Greet featuring Batman, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Captain America, Harley Quinn, Iron Man and more!
• Games & prizes – hoola hoops, bean bag toss, mini-putt golf

And lastly, you won't want to miss Boston Comic Con's night out at Fenway Park! Seriously, these are two worlds we never thought would collide but, here we are! On Friday August 12, the Boston Red Sox will celebrate Boston Comic Con and the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek. See cosplay guests on the infield, William Shatner tossing out the first pitch, and watch the Red Sox take on the Arizona Diamondbacks and receive an exclusive limited addition Star Trek-Red Sox KIRK figure by Titan Merchandise. Pre-game activities begin at 6:30PM. Tickets are only available online and in advance.
